Course Objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with a solid understanding of the biological control of insects. The course covers various themes, including microbial control. Students analyse actual and future biological control methods, the research needed to develop them and the environmental effects of their usage
 
Course Contents
Possible themes for group practicals include:

Sampling and diagnosis of insect pathogens
Isolation and growth in vitro
Infection experiments
Biological and molecular characterisation
The course is particularly suitable for students wishing to specialise in entomology, crop protection, biological control, biotechnology and environmental management.
 
Teaching And Learning Methods
Practicals and group work. Participation is essential in order to benefit fully from the course. In order to pass the course it is essential to participate actively and a report must be written.
