| The students should gain a thorough knowledge of and a confidentiality with formal Economic Theory, enabling them to design and analyze simple economic models, as well as to assume a critical stance to the assumptions behind said models. | |||||||||||||
| Kursusindhold | |||||||||||||
| With a base in the course "Samfundsøkonomi" (or the equivalent thereof), central Micro Economical problems are presented in an abstract fashion. Common themes are the decision of the individual agent and correlations between agents (consumers, producers and various goods/markets). We consider the ways in which the perfect market functions (Perfect Competition), and we deal with imperfections in the sense of Imperfect Competition and Incomplete Information. In this connection, we introduce Game Theory, as it is at a stepping stone to many of the models we deal with. We also present an introduction to Contract Theory, in which we analyze the meaning of asymmetric information. | |||||||||||||
