| The aim of the course is to give students coming from outside of KVL an indtroduction to the methods used at KVL in problem based project oriented learning. Form, content and working processes useful in project work are introduced, and learners are provided some experiences as the basis for their future projects. The course introduces problems solving tools, ways of thinking and written and oral presentations as preparation for further study at KVL. | |||||||||||||

| Independent projects are an important element in many courses at KVL. The function of this course is to introduce the basics of problem oriented projects in order to make the students more competent in managing their projects. The projects originate from problems chosen by the students themselves and help them understand the basic studies connected to the applied subjects. The understanding of the problems chosen often calls for an interdisciplinary approach. Project planning and the ability to co-operate are also important job qualifications along with the ability to discuss problems in a concise manner both orally and in written form. | |||||||||||||
| Undervisningsform | |||||||||||||
| The course includes introduction seminars and lectures, independent project work, supervision, presentations and opposition to the presentations. A number of tools relevant to the outcome of the project are introduced including brainstorming, mind mapping, problem trees and writing processes. Group work, principles of written and oral presentation are also covered. During the course an introduction to KVL's library will be arranged. | |||||||||||||
