Kursets målsætning
The aim of the course is to provide students' IT abilities to produce professional 3D visualizations of physical environments and presentation of project material. Furthermore, students will be given opportunities to form an opinion on the role of representation as part of landscape communication.

Kursusindhold
The course is divided in two, starting up with lecturer guided introductions and computer lab exercises within 3D visualization (4 exercises), web presentation (4), video (1) and poster production (1). These sessions should provide student with basic proficiency in the computer software used and an overview of digital visualization techniques. Results are handed in by mid term on a CD-rom.

In the second part students in groups or personally define a relevant problem that should be solved using computer techniques under guidance of a tutor. These projects are to contain a description of the problem, an analysis of previous examples or theoretic considerations, a project solution and a short description of the process. As an example, if students decide to make a digital portfolio an analysis could show how professionals present themselves on the net and theoretic considerations could be about web communication. To avoid bias in selection of final project other examples of subjects should be mentioned; 3D presentation of project produced in a previous course, test of software relevant for landscape architects, examples of improving presentations of landscape analysis by basing them on a 3D representation. Results are handed in at the end of the course on a CD-Rom and presented orally at the final exam.

In 8 two hour sessions students (in groups) will present selected literature (one or two articles) concerning landscape representation and communication. All students are supposed to have read the articles for each seminar.

Software used is AutoCAD, 3D-Viz,Front Page and In Design
