Kursets målsætning
The aim of the course is to provide students' IT abilities to produce professional 3D visualizations of physical environments and presentation of project material. Furthermore, students will be given opportunities to form an opinion on the role of representation as part of landscape communication.

Kursusindhold
The course builds on three main student outputs; a theory paper about landscape representations and visualization, a digital protfolio and an example of visualization of a landscape or buildning project.

Both of the two projects are introduced by lectures and computer lab exercises within 3D visualization and web presentation. These sessions should provide student with basic proficiency in the computer software used and an overview of digital visualization techniques. Results are handed in on CD-rom by the end of each project period.

The projects are expected to contain a short description of the problem, an analysis of previous examples or theoretic considerations, a project solution and a short description of the process. As an example of the digital portfolio an analysis could show how professionals present themselves on the web and theoretic considerations could be about web communication.

The theory paper is introduced by a series of lectures and student seminars based on articles handed out. At the seminars (two hour sessions) students (in groups of two) will present selected literature concerning landscape representation and communication. All students are supposed to have read the articles for each seminar.

Software used is AutoCAD, 3D-Viz and Front Page.

Undervisningsform
See above. Exercises and background material is found on www.novaland.kvl.dk. Student results are all along the course period published on an intra-net for communication and critiques. Some students will be asked to present their results from their CD-portfolio for the entire class, but this is not part of the assessement.
