Course Content
The course gives the participants a thorough knowledge of toxicological principles including risk assessment and toxicological evaluation of chemicals, drugs and occupational compounds. Furthermore, the course covers all aspects of theoretical toxicology: toxicokinetics, different types of toxicity (e.g. genetic, carcinogenesis and developmental toxicity ), specific organ toxicity (e.g. liver, reproductive system, skin and the nervous system), toxic effects of various chemicals (e.g. pesticides, metals, and animal venoms), and clinical, occupational and regulatory toxicology. The course focuses on the principles behind risk assessment and toxicological evaluation in pre-clinical settings.

The course is comprised of lectures, student presentations and practical exercises in various types of risk assessment.
