Course Content
The course consists of lectures and hands-on practical excercises. The lectures aim at introducing the theoretical background for transmission and scanning electron microsopy including fixation, dehydration, embedding, sectioning and microscopy as well as immunocytochemistry at the ultrastructural level. The practical excercises aim at giving the students a hands-on impression of tissue processing including fixation, dehydration, embedding, sectioning and microscopy. The students are allowed to bring their own fixed specimens for preparation.

Teaching and learning Methods
