Course AbstractThe objective of the course is to give the PhD student an introduction to handling laboratory animals as well as using animals in biomedical research. The course covers the recommendations at category C level according to the European Council Convention.

Organisation of TeachingThe course is arranged as e-lectures, group work, own reading, plenum sessions and practicals during a two-week period at LIFE/Frederiksberg Campus.

RestrictionsMaximum number of participants: 48. PhD students from KU/LIFE have priority. A maximum of 20% PhD students from other Danish universities will be admitted.
 
Course Content
The course covers the recommendations at category C level according to the European Council Convention.
 
Teaching and learning Methods
The course consists of e-lectures and group work followed up by plenum sessions for approximately 50 hours, and 20 hours of practicals. The students must spend approximately 100 hours of own reading to pass the examination.

Course Fee
Free of charge for PhD students under the Open Market for Postgraduate Courses in DK and from NOVA-partners. Campus Units partners: DKK 13,200. All other participants: DKK 19,800.
 
Course Costs
All PhD students will be charged DKK 3,000 for materials.
