Kursusindhold
Part 1: Production functions and technology, nonparametric model of technology, cost functions, indirect production functions, distance functions, nonconvex models of technology, efficiency measurement and efficiency analysis, index numbers, productivity measurement, performance and economic analysis, mathematical tools
Part II: Economic development and policy analysis, demand analysis, profit and cost function analysis, supply response, behaviour and welfare under risk, agricultural household models, transaction cost, multimarket models, general equilibrium models
 
Undervisningsform
Private studies of recommended literature including excersises, and individual supervision
 
Målbeskrivelse
At the end of the course, the student will have knowledge production economic theory and the measurement of productivity and efficiency. The student will also will also have knowledge of models for quantitaitve economic analysis. The student will acquire skills to carry out empirical measurement of production performance, and will be able to build and to solve models for quantitative policy analysis, including agricultural household models. The student will acquire competences in choosing appropriate methods for measurement of production performance and will have competences in building models of the interaction between production and household behaviour.
