Beskrivelse af eksamen: The students will be continuously assessed based on the following: Students have to participate at least 80% of the practical course. As a part of the course the student will have to perform oral presentations and hand in a number of in written exercises/cases and procedure protocols.

Kursusindhold
Having completed the course, the student should be able to:
. Confident in diagnostics and staging of the oncological patient at an advanced level
. Confident in using chemotherapy
. Confident in planning treatment
. Knowledge at advanced level in different types of cancers
. - Diagnostics and treatment of melanomas
. - Diagnostics and treatment of mast cell tumours
. - Diagnostics and treatment of malignant lymphoma
. complications and supportive therapy
. nutrition and nutraceuticals
. transfusion-guidelines
. pain management
. supplement therapies
. hypercoagulability in cancer
 
Undervisningsform
A combination of theoretical lectures and case-based practice.
 
Målbeskrivelse
The purpose of this course is: Medical management of the small animal cancer patient incl. principles and therapeutic options for the most common companion animal cancers. Prognosis, client communication and consulting.
Assignment : Each participant makes drug administration procedures for medical treatment of oncology patients for their clinic.
