Beskrivelse af eksamen: The students will be continuously assessed based on the following: Students have to participate at least 80% of the practical course. As a part of the course the student will have to perform oral presentations and hand in a number of in written exercises/cases and procedure protocols.

Kursusindhold
Having completed the course, the student should be able to:

. Identify neurological patients suitable for advanced neurological diagnostic procedures
. Collect and interpret CSF samples
. Recognize the indication for serological test and interpretation of these
. Identify appropriate image modality and have knowledge of common diagnostic imaging hallmarks of the neurological patient.
. Understand the interpretation of CT, MRI
. Evaluate pros and cons for CT and MRI
 
Undervisningsform
A combination of theoretical lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice and case-based practice.
 
Målbeskrivelse
The purpose of this course is to further develop the diagnostic skills of the participant when approaching the more complicated neurological patient. The participant should be able to combine knowledge from paraclinical disciplines as diagnostics imaging, cytology and haematological (including serology) with the clinical findings at an advanced level. A wet-lab practice of cerebrospinal fluid tap and interpretation will be included. Conventional diagnostic imaging as well as advanced image modalities such as computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - indication, interpretation and therapeutic consequences. is addressed.
Cases of neurological patients and clinical work-up will be used to demonstrate the above-described disciplines.
