Methodological analysis of the participants research problems will give an understanding of the logic of argumentation in clinical research.
Another objective is to create an intellectual environment where PhD- students in sub disciplines in veterinary clinical field meet. In this context, the PhD-students will have the opportunity to outline their own research problems to each other and discuss them with specialists in the field.

Undervisningsform
Theoretical teaching, group exercises, presentations and discussion of individual Ph.D. research projects by students and individual supervision on research projects.

Målbeskrivelse
Background:
A variety of experimental designs have been developed in clinical research. They provide a vast assortment of means to test hypothesis and handle sources of variation.
Publishing in empirical research without statistical analysis is practically impossible but to understand the reasoning behind the designs is important to increase the level of empirical research. Designs must be flexible with the respect to the requirements of research object under study.

Aim:
The main objective is to give the participants an understanding of basic principles in clinical research and make participants able to plan and conduct research projects and analyse the data critically.
